Fun for zero dollars: Las Vegas’ 10 best free things to do

Las Vegas has plenty of free things to do, even on the Strip – or perhaps especially on the Strip, since street performers have become a common sight there. Taking a walk on the Strip is one of the easiest ways to take in free entertainment, although it’s worth remembering that most buskers expect a tip if you take a photo of them.
Some of the most well-known free attractions on the Strip are at the Bellagio. The Bellagio’s Conservatory and Botanical Gardens regularly attracts crowds with its amazing displays of seasonal scenery, and the Fountains of Bellagio have been delighting audiences for years with their graceful choreography.
If you’re looking for a quiet respite on the Strip, the Flamingo Wildlife Habitat may be just the place. This tiny oasis is home to flamingos, pelicans, turtles and fish, and it’s completely free to visit.
Getting out of the city to explore the surrounding desert is also an excellent way to turn up free and low-cost activities. There’s no admission fee to walk across the Mike O’Callaghan-Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge, and it comes with a birds-eye view of Hoover Dam at almost 900 feet above the Colorado River. If heights aren’t your thing, perhaps you’d enjoy exploring the neon-colored rock towers at Seven Magic Mountains, which includes an expansive view of the surrounding desert and the Jean Dry Lake Bed.
