Family-friendly fun: The best things to do with kids in Las Vegas

If you’re visiting Las Vegas with kids, you might be surprised at the number of family-friendly things to do. While the Las Vegas Strip is primarily designed for adults, there’s a lot more city beyond the Strip. The population of Clark County is over 2 million people, and that includes plenty of children.
On the Strip, kids will probably enjoy the themed shopping malls, free curbside shows and animal attractions. If you’re looking for something that might hold everyone’s attention a little longer, a ride on the High Roller offers panoramic views of Las Vegas. For an entire afternoon of fun, head over to The Adventuredome, the indoor amusement park at Circus Circus.
Venture away from the Strip to find more parks and outdoor activities. In summer, most families are looking for water features and pools, and Cowabunga Bay delivers on all kinds of watery slides and rides. The water is even heated at some attractions, a feature that parents of small children especially appreciate.
While the summer can bring scorching temperatures to Las Vegas, the weather is fairly mild the rest of the year, making outdoor recreation possible almost year-round. Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area offers hikes for all ages and abilities. The Springs Preserve, which is just west of Downtown Las Vegas, has trails, historic sites and museums. Both places offer the chance for exercise and even a little education.
